DAY 2

CITY TOUR

Explore the city of Cusco, visiting key landmarks such as the Cusco Cathedral and the Qoricancha Temple. Next, we'll discover sacred Inca sites including Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, and Tambomachay.

Duration: 5 hours.

QORICANCHA TEMPLE

The Inca Temple of the Sun, or Qoricancha, was one of the most sacred and revered buildings in the Inca Empire. People from all over the Empire would come to worship and pay tribute to their gods, but the temple's interior was reserved for the most important figures of the time, "The Clergy." Due to its significance, Qoricancha was built with finely joined stones with impressive precision, giving it a simultaneously austere and magnificent aesthetic.

SACSAYHUAMAN

Sacsayhuamán, one of the most astonishing archaeological complexes ever discovered, has become a must-see destination in Peru due to its beauty and grandeur. Located at the top of a hill 230 meters (755 feet) above the city of Cusco, it is constructed with stones measuring up to 8 meters (27 feet) in height and weighing many tons, featuring zigzagging walls over 305 meters (1000 feet) long—an incredible feat of human engineering. People from around the world gather to marvel at the history of this magnificent structure.

KENKO

Discovering the mystery behind this temple, which is situated behind natural caves, and the purpose of its underground chambers. The name Q'inqu (currently Qenqo or Kenko) means "labyrinth" in the Quechua language of the Andes. In Kenko, we find underground galleries, channels, and a semicircular amphitheater-like structure.

PUKA PUKARA

This place is characterized by its massive walls, terraces, and staircases, and during the Inca period, it was part of Cusco’s defensive complex.

Puca Pucara, or Pukapukara, means 'red fortress' due to the color of the earth prevalent in the area. Additionally, an incredible feature is that the limestone rocks take on a reddish hue in the evening light due to the rays of twilight.

TAMBOMACHAY

This site was popularly known as the "Inca Baths." Researchers believe that Tambomachay was an important water worship center. It is an archaeological complex featuring intricately designed channels, walls, and windows that showcase the extraordinary architectural talent of the Incas and their profound understanding of hydraulics.

DAY 3

Classic Sacred Valley Tour Cusco (Traditional)

This tour explores one of the most significant historical centers in Cusco, renowned for its stunning beauty.

Duration: All day.

We will visit the Archaeological Center and city of Pisac, the Archaeological Park of Chinchero, and the town and fortress of Ollantaytambo.

PISAC

We will visit the magical town of Pisac, known for its picturesque artisan market located in the main square, “Plaza de Armas.” This town was an agricultural, commercial, and religious center during the height of the Inca Empire. They built a large complex that included temples, agricultural terraces, storage buildings, and residences for the nobility (the Inca and his ministers).

OLLANTAYTAMBO

Located beside the Urubamba River amidst snow-capped mountains, Ollantaytambo is renowned for its massive Inca fortress with large stone terraces on a hillside. It includes the grand Temple of the Sun and the Prince’s Fountain. The town’s historic center features a network of cobblestone streets and adobe buildings dating back to the Inca era.

At the end of this multi-excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will travel on the fabulous Peru Rail train, offering panoramic and exclusive views, to the picturesque and unique town of Aguas Calientes (the gateway to Machu Picchu). There, we will enjoy dinner and spend the night in the village. The next morning, we will take a 15-minute bus ride to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World: Machu Picchu.

DAY 4

We depart at 8 am by bus to Machu Picchu.

Duration: 3 to 4 hours.

Afterward, we return to the town of Aguas Calientes, then take the train to Ollantaytambo and transfer back to the city of Cusco.

MACHU PICCHU

Departure at 8 a.m. to take the bus to Machu Picchu, just 15 minutes from Aguas Calientes. Behind the mountains, we find the majesty of one of the Seven Wonders of the World: MACHU PICCHU.

Machu Picchu is the most outstanding Inca archaeological site due to its creative urban design, the beauty of its architecture, and the fine stonework of its structures. Its planning notably utilized the topography of the mountaintop, transforming it into an impressive llaqta. The architecture of this Inca city, with its 200 structures, blends exceptionally with the stunning natural surroundings to which it is closely connected.

DAY 5

Salineras de Maras and Moray Archaeological Site

Duration: 7 hours.

MARAS SALT MINE

Strategically carved into the mountainside, thousands of shallow pools filled with saltwater are present. Over time, the water evaporates, leaving behind crystallized salt. These salt pans have been in operation for over 500 years. To this day, local families harvest the salt to produce their special and beloved Peruvian pink salt.

MORAY ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTER

These are agricultural terraces or platforms constructed in natural depressions or gigantic pits. The terraces are arranged concentrically, forming a vast amphitheater-like structure. The largest pit has a depth of 150 meters, and the average height of the terraces is 1.80 meters.

According to historians, these constructions served as a crucial agricultural laboratory for the Inca Empire. The terraces are built with their respective irrigation channels, creating distinct microclimates within each terrace. What is particularly striking is the significant annual temperature difference between the top and the bottom of the depressions, which can reach up to 15°C.

DAY 6

You can choose to visit the Rainbow Mountain, which is an all-day tour including lunch. The hike up takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Duration: 10 to 11 hours.

Alternatively, you might prefer to visit Humantay Lake. Duration: 12 hours.

TOUR LAGUNA HUMANTAY

Humantay Lake is a stunning glacial lake located in the Cusco region of Peru. Its crystal-clear turquoise waters are fed by the nearby snow-capped peak of Nevado Humantay. Nestled among the picturesque mountain peaks of the area, it is undoubtedly one of the most magical places in the country.

7 COLORES or VINICUNCA

Lunch is included

There is a place in southern Peru where a mountain attracts attention, not so much for its size, but for its spectacular appearance. We are talking about Vinicunca, or Rainbow Mountain, which has become one of the major tourist attractions in the land of the Incas.

Located in the Vilcanota Mountain Range, southeast of the city of Cusco, Vinicunca offers a marvelous spectacle starting from the very path that leads to it. It culminates in a postcard-perfect image that remains forever etched in our most memorable experiences.
